Wilderness Safari.

Today was a monumental day for our family. Today we found something I love about Quebec. (Besides of course, the dear and close friends that I have there, $7 daycare and (of course) Poutine.) (I love you Jen! ;) )

Today, we found Parc Omega.





Parc Omega is a Canadian version of African Lion Safari (which is quite possibly my most favourite GTA attraction) that houses animals that are indigenous to the Canadian wilderness. AND, (because its in Quebec) they let you feed ALL the animals (EVEN THE BEARS!!!) except for the Buffalo.

First, though, we had to feed the big bear that was in the driver`s seat. So, we lunched in their snack bar on quite possibly the BEST hotdogs ever (they grill their buns like a grilled cheese! Yummy!) and real French Canadian Poutine (not something I normally have. But, I feel its a must when I`m in La Belle Provence! (See, I really did like the place. I didn`t make the belly joke!)

(This is not the bear that drove us to the park. And to be honest, the bear wasn`t really bear like. Just a very hungry daddy/husband who needed to eat.

And then we needed to purchase some obsorbanantly priced carrots for feeding the animals. (Next time (yes, there will be a next time) we will purchase the carrots ahead of time and bring them with us.)





Then it was off on the car portion of the parc.

Right away, we knew that 2 bags of carrots would not be enough.



We were on carrot ration.


A Red deer greeted us at the gate.


And then he wanted more!

All of the animals that won't eat eachother roam freely. Next up were the Wild Boars (or as Aaron called them... Pigs!)



We loved the "pigs"





Especially the babies







We saw Fallow Deer



And we fed them little pieces of Carrot that the Daddy Bear (aka. Marc) cut up for them.



But we fed the Wapatis the big pieces because we wanted to keep our fingers. And, they drool a little. ;)





And then we came to the http://www.parc-omega.com/en/bisons.html... (Remember them? We're NOT ALLOWED to feed them... I think someone forgot to tell the this guy though.)



So I did up the windows.



And Aaron hopped in the Driver's seat.

(He wanted me to go sit in his car seat. But, I had to say no.)

He eventually relented and let me stay in the passenger seat while he took us over to the Arctic Wolves... They're very pretty.





The Alpine Ibexes were there for a visit.



(They're a little scary. They're horns are BIG!!!)

One lonely Red Deer was hanging out with them. He got our last carrot.

And, of course... Le piece de resistance... L'Ours Noir! (That's "The black bears" for all you unilingual folk. ;) Who am I kidding! I read the website coding! :P )











And then, I ran out of space on my memory card. :( I took a lot of video. Which I will post once it is edited down.

I am a mother

I am a mother. I am a mother to a very smart and mischievious boy, who, so far this morning has:

-changed the resolution on the computer. (I'm having a hard time fixing it)

-taken off a very VERY poopy diaper and then sat down diaperless.

-stolen my cup of tea from the pass through (which was full and THANK GOD, cool) and taken it into his tent to drink on his couch. He and the couch are soaked. But, I am impressed that he got it that far (and climbed down off the chair) without spilling it.

- Squeeze all the water out of the big duck in the bathroom onto the floor. I slipped and something popped in my back. But so far I'm ok.

- Pulled ALL the wipes out of the container and spread them all over the living room. (I think he was trying to help tidy up.)

-Grabbed his lunch bowl from yesterday and ate the remaining 3 KD noodles stuck to the inside.

- Took the package of gum off the dresser in the bedroom and took it to his play tent (pre tea) took ALL of the gum out of it unwrapped it all and chewed than spat out each piece onto the floor and his Cars couch.

and then later in the day...

- He dumped all the fruit cocktail on the table and squeezed the juice out of it. Then he tossed it on the floor.

Some might call him Dennis the Menace. Some might call him bad. Some might call him a handful.

But, I am his mother. And he hugged me first thing this morning when he woke up.

Tulip Festival WE 1: Attack of the Limitless Energy

Here are some shots from the Tulip Festival. The weather was kind of cold, so there weren`t as many blooming tulips as there should have been (this was a big disappointment for the many Asian tourists that flock here for the festival) BUT there are still 2 more weekends.

Which is good because I had the BEST korean food in the international pavilion and I want more!

Easter Weekend and Spring is here!!!

Its been a while since I posted a photo blog. I didn't want to bump all the other easter blogs. So here are some highlights:

The most ridiculous thing that happened on Saturday... Here is the conversation I overheard while in the Bike store...

(enter Marc, Aaron in Stroller and myself)

MARC (to male bike store clerk): Hi. Do you have any lube?

BIKE STORE CLERK: Excuse me?

MARC: Chain Lube... I'm looking for the chain lube...

BSC: I'm not sure if its come in for the season. I'll be right back...

(Enter tree hugging girl and not as tree hugging boyfriend.)

(Talking to Female BSC who is about 5 feet away) Tree Hugging Girl: Excuse me... Those bike seats with the holes in the middle... They're for women right? To keep their vaginas cool.

FBSC: I'm sorry....

Tree Hugging Girl: The bike seats with the holes in the middle... That's to keep the air circulating to the vagina right?

FBSC: Well, they were originally designed for men... Because... they have a little more in that area. But, yes... Women do... find... that they're... helpful... to them as well...

(Tree Hugging girl starts talking quietly to her boyfriend.)

(Talking again to FBSC) Tree Hugging Girl: Do you think there is any correlation between having a sweaty crotch and yeast infections?
